Soft tissue augmentation around dental implants
Scientific Programme (On Demand)
Session Description
Soft tissue augmentation around dental implants
Peri-implant tissue health and aesthetically pleasing peri-implant restorations are key objectives in modern implant therapy. The treatment of soft tissue deficiencies can be approached preventively such as in peri-implant sites where there is not adequate width of keratinized peri-implant mucosa or in sites where there is insufficient thickness of peri-implant marginal tissue. These indications will be surgically treated using either autologous soft tissue grafts or soft tissue substitutes with either non-submerged or submerged approaches. Similarly, the treatment of peri-implant soft tissue dehiscence defects, can be approached surgically with the use of autologous grafts, although lack of appropriate vascular supply makes this indication more challenging. In this presentation we shall review the scientific

Learning Objectives
- At the end of the presentation participants should have learnt the scientific evidence and surgical techniques used for predictable periimplant soft tissue augmentation in these three indications:
- The increase in the dimension of keratinized peri-implant mucosa
- The increase in thickness of peri-implant marginal mucosal tissues
- The treatment of peri-implant tissue dehiscence defects.
