Potentially malignant lesions cont.
Scientific Programme (On Demand)
Session Description
Part 1: Potentially malignant lesions
Potentially malignant lesions (PMLs), previously called premalignant lesions, can precede the development of oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCCa). A number of risk factors predispose patients to develop these lesions. Dentists must play an important role in the elimination of these risk factors and in the opportunistic screening of oral PMLs and oral SCCa. This course will prepare members of the dental team to achieve these goals. Using clinical cases, the speakers will underline the features that should make clinicians consider PMLs in the differential diagnosis of an oral lesion.
