After receiving his dental and medical degrees from l’Université de Montréal, Dr. Michel El-Hakim completed a residency training with a Master of Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at McGill University. This was followed by a fellowship in maxillofacial oncology and microvascular surgery at the University of Maryland, USA. Between 2008 and 2013, Dr. El-Hakim was the director of the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at McGill University, where he is now the assistant professor. He is a fellow, an examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
