Professional Bio
For the past 28 years, the work of Professor Stefania Martignon has centered upon a systematic and integrated approach in research, education and translation to general and public dental health practice in relation to cariology and dental fluorosis. She has a PhD degree in cariology (University of Copenhagen) and she is a Paediatric Dentist (University El Bosque-UEB, Bogotá, Colombia). Prof. Martignon is a Professor of Cariology at UEB, where she chairs UNICA -Caries Research Unit and she has assembled a portfolio of research grants of over £500,000 and has 64 peer-reviewed publications to date. She is part of the Global Collaboratory for Caries Management (GCCM) in King’s College London, the Alliance for a Cavity Free Future (ACFF), the ICDAS Foundation, CariesCare International (CCI) and the Latin American Oral Health Association (LAOHA). Prof. Martignon is a consultant to the Ministry of Health and the INS (National Health Institute) in Colombia.
