Associate Professor at the School of Dental Medicine and Senior Investigator at the Center for Global Health at the University of Colorado, A/Prof. Elizabeth Shick was the recent recipient of an American Dental Association grant in collaboration with FDI World Dental Federation to create a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), “The Challenge of Oral Disease: A Call for Global Action”, to promote education and awareness about the global burden of oral disease.  She served on FDI’s Taskforce for Sustainability in Dentistry, supporting the development of its Consensus Statement on the need for environmentally sustainable practices in dentistry.  A/Prof. currently works with FDI and Smile Train, a leading cleft lip and palate Non-Profit Organization, promoting oral health in cleft patients. Her work focuses on locally sustainable solutions to reduce oral health inequalities and improve oral health globally.
