Direct aesthetic restorations, simplified and perfected
Scientific Programme (On Demand)
Session Description
Direct aesthetic restorations, simplified and perfected
In daily clinical practice, dentists often face challenges in the anterior zone, especially when restoring teeth with direct composite materials. In the aesthetic zone, direct composite restorations are considered to be the least invasive procedure to restore tooth form, function and esthetics, and when planned properly, provide predictable esthetic and functional outcomes.
This lecture will introduce a step-by-step esthetic analysis of natural tooth shape, shade and texture, as well as understanding how to apply these guidelines to our daily clinical practice.
Material selection is crucial in achieving esthetic outcomes. As such, considerations for material selection, composite layering techniques and tips and tricks for the use of tints and opacifiers will be presented.
Learning Objectives
• An overview of anterior aesthetic guidelines
• Composite properties that concern the practicing dentist
• Different layering techniques available
• Wisely using effects and tints
• Tips and tricks for daily clinical situations for predictable outcomes
