Managing caries in older people
Scientific Programme (On Demand)
Session Description
Managing caries in older people
Caries in older people affects both enamel and as a direct effect dentine (rather than dentine caries
as a progression of caries through enamel). How can / should we manage caries in an ageing
population? Are there strategies that we need to consider that are different to those that we use in
adults? What are the variables that help us to identify increasing caries risk in patients as those
changes happen rather than identifying rapidly progressing caries and having to fight a rearguard
action
