This full day hands-on masterclass will focus on the critical issues related to managing patients with peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis and provides training on various surgical modalities of peri-implantits for optimal treatment outcomes.
This workshop will present the different non-surgical and surgical treatment alternatives and critically evaluate their efficacy. This will include the use of regenerative techniques in combination with different types of bone grafts. Furthermore, risk assessment tools for the development of an appropriate and customised maintenance/recall programme of patients receiving dental implants will also be discussed.
Learning objectives:
- Key preventative measures regarding the supra structure to maximise longevity of dental implants and minimise risks for peri-implant disease
- “Hopeless” vs “Questionable” implants – decision-making criteria
- In which clinical situations is a regenerative approach the preferred treatment option for peri-implantitis including the use of bone graft?
- Which clinical situation would benefit from the use of a membrane?
- In which clinical situations is a respective approach the preferred treatment option for peri-implantitis?
- What benefits and potential risks may be associated with an implantoplasty procedure?
- How do we maintain peri-implant health after treatment for long term success?
All preventive measures should be undertaken to prevent peri-implant complications. Individualised treatment planning, surgical treatment as well as a regular maintenance program are crucial for dental implant success.
