Conservative Management of the Severely Worn Dentition
Scientific Programme (On Demand)
Session Description
Presentation Abstract:
Restoration of an extensively worn or badly broken-down dentition can be complex, costly and time consuming to implement. Consideration of aesthetics, occlusion and function is critical to determining management strategies. This presentation will look at assessment of patients and options for undertaking conservative and cost-effective restorative management of worn and broken-down dentitions. A number of patient cases will be presented to demonstrate the strategies which can be employed to assist with aesthetic and functional rehabilitation of the patient’s dentition.
Learning Outcomes:
- Assessment and comparison of patients presenting with tooth wear and understanding the underlying predisposing factors.
- Determining when and how to restore the worn dentition
- Identifying options for minimally invasive restorative management of broken-down dentitions
- Demonstrating clinical techniques and restorative outcomes
- Evaluating management strategies and ongoing maintenance requirements
